Lecture Title: The East Indian Population and Their Mental Health
Dr. Ananth, born in Hassan, Mysore, India, earned his medical degree in 1960 from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India. Over his distinguished career, he served in various roles, including on the APA’s Minority Affairs Committee, the Pacific Rim Psychiatrists Association, and the Indo-American Psychiatric Association (IAPA). A Life Fellow of the APA, Dr. Ananth was recognized for his contributions to advancing the understanding of Asian cultural heritage in psychiatry, receiving the Kun-Po Soo Award in 1999 and the George Tarjan Award in 2000.
