Dr. Tsuang was born in Tainan, Taiwan, and received his medical degree from the National Taiwan University in 1957. He received a Ph.D. in psychiatric genetics in 1965 and a Doctor of Science degree in psychiatric genetics and epidemiology in 1981 from the University of London.
Dr. Tsuang is a renowned researcher in the fields of human genetics and neuropsychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and PTSD. He is a member of the San Diego Psychiatric Society and a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA.
