Lecture Title: Aspects of Asian Psychiatry: Evolving Concern's and Cultural Issues
Dr. Lin graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Tokyo Imperial University, where he completed his specialty training in psychiatry. His postdoctoral studies included two years as a research fellow at Harvard Medical School and one year as a WHO fellow at the Maudsley Institute of Psychiatry in London.
Dr. Lin served as the Honorary President of the World Federation of Mental Health and acted as a senior advisor to both the People’s Republic of China and Taiwan. In 1973, he joined the University of British Columbia as a Professor of Psychiatry, a role he held until his retirement in 1986. Dr. Lin was a fellow of the APA and was honored with the Asian/Asian-American Award in 1992.
