Lecture Title: Hispanics and AIDS
Dr. Fernandez obtained his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1979 and completed his psychiatry residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. His clinical work involves consulting on patients with neurobehavioral disorders, psychiatric complications from cancer and AIDS, psychological aspects of medical illnesses, end-of-life decision-making, psychopharmacology, pain management, somatoform disorders, attention deficit disorder, memory dysfunction, Alzheimer’s disease, and other cognitive disorders. Dr. Fernandez also chaired the APA Committee on AIDS and served on the Steering Committee of the APA-CMHS-funded AIDS Education Project.
