1975 Simon Bolivar Award Recipient
Lecture Title: The Cultural Development of Latin America: An Historical Disequilibrium
Germán Arciniegas was a Colombian historian, writer, and journalist known for advocating educational and cultural causes and opposing dictatorship. He served as a college professor, Minister of Education, and held various ambassadorial roles. In 1975, he became the first recipient of the Simon Bolivar Award.
