Lecture Title: Sociocultural Aspects of Stress: The Acculturation Process in the U.S.
Dr. Visotsky, born on Chicago's West Side, served in the Army during World War II, earning several medals for bravery. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1951, completed his internship at Cincinnati General Hospital, and pursued a psychiatry residency at the University of Illinois Hospital (1952–1955). Dr. Visotsky was a distinguished psychiatrist and former Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University Medical School. He was also an APA Life Member, recognized for his contributions to the field.
