Lecture Title: Culture, Health and Quality of Life
Dr. Mezzich, born in Peru, completed his medical education at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima and furthered his training in psychiatry and mathematical psychology at Ohio State University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) and a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Mezzich has authored numerous articles and books on topics such as nosology, classification, multiaxial systems, and cultural considerations in psychiatric diagnosis and epidemiology. He has also participated in various committees of the APA and the World Psychiatric Association (WPA) focusing on diagnosis and nosology and previously served as the Secretary General of the WPA.
