Lecture Title: How is the Schizophrenia Brain Changing: Was Kraepelin Right?
Dr. Bustillo graduated from Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, completed psychiatry residency at UTMB in Galveston and trained in schizophrenia research at the University of Maryland. He joined the University of New Mexico in 1996 and holds the Uhlenhuth Family Professorship of Research. His research has tested the model of NMDA hypofunction in schizophrenia in a series of human and animal studies. He is a member of the ACNP, was chair of the NIH Scientific Review Group on Interventions Committee for Adult Disorders, and was a member of the Psychosis Work Group for DSM-5.
