Lecture Title: Should Psychiatry Embrace a Psycho-Spiritual Approach to Patient Care?
Dr. Gaw was born in Lucena, Quezon Province, the Philippines. He received his medical degree from the University of the East College of Medicine, the Philippines (1964). He was a clinical professor of psychiatry at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Gaw served as the first Asian American Speaker of the Assembly (2002–03), was a Distinguished Life Fellow, and was the recipient of the Kun-Po Soo Award (2006) and the George Tarjan Award (2008).
