Lecture Title: Psychiatry and Aging: Contributions of the International Medical Graduates
Dr. Jeste was born in India, earned his D.P.M. from the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Bombay, and received his medical degree from the University of Bombay, India. He spearheaded the process of finalization, approval, and publication of the DSM-V and expanded APA's international membership with a focus on positive psychiatry. Dr. Jeste served as the first Asian American President of APA (2012-13), is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA, and received the George Tarjan Award (2006).
