2021 George Tarjan Award Recipient
Lecture Title: A Journey from the East to the West Subtitles: From Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) to International Medical Graduate (IMG) Ethnicity, Culture, and Psychopharmacology
Dr. Pi was born in China and received his medical degree from the Catholic University College of Medicine in Korea. He is an accomplished researcher in the fields of cross-cultural psychiatry and psychopharmacology. He served as chair of the Committee of Asian American Psychiatrists on the Council on National Affairs (1998-1999), and he served on the Council on Professional Values and Human Dignity (1999-2000). He also served as chair of the Minority/Underrepresented Groups (MURs) and Member of the Executive Committee, APA Assembly (2013–2014). Dr. Pi is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA and serves on the APA Foundation Board. He was the recipient of the Kun-Po Soo award (2009) and the George Tarjan Award (2021).
