Lecture Title: Regulating the Entry of International Medical Graduates into U.S. Medicine and Psychiatry and endeavoring to contribute to their professional development: The Role of the ECFMG
Dr. Cassimatis earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School (1971), completed his psychiatric residency at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center in Boston (1972-1975), and pursued psychoanalytic training at the Washington Psychoanalytic Institute. He served as President and CEO of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), playing a key role in advancing medical education and accreditation for international graduates. A Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA, he was honored with the George Tarjan Award in 2016 for his contributions to psychiatry and medical education.
