2000 George Tarjan Award Recipient
Lecture Title: The Contributions of the International Medical: Graduates to American Psychiatry
Dr. Ananth was born in Hassan, Mysore, India, and received his medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India (1960). He served in many capacities, including on the APA’s Minority Affairs Committee, the Pacific Rim Psychiatrists Association, and the Indo-American Psychiatric Association (IAPA). Dr. Ananth was a Life Fellow of the APA, awarded the Kun-Po Soo Award (1999) and the George Tarjan Award (2000) for his efforts to increase the understanding of Asian cultural heritage in areas relevant to psychiatry.
