Lecture Title: The Road less traveled: Eastern spiritual concepts applied to psychiatric education
She completed her residency at the Bronx Care Health System Program (1975–1978). Throughout her career, she has achieved several notable firsts, including becoming the first elected representative to the APA Assembly from the Caucus of IMGs and the first woman President of the Indo-American Psychiatric Association.
A dedicated member of the APA for many years, Dr. Juthani has served on various committees, including the Committee on IMGs and the Task Force on Strategic Planning. She is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA, a highly respected mentor to countless IMG residents and medical students, and the recipient of numerous awards recognizing her excellence, particularly in teaching. In 2007, she was honored with the prestigious George Tarjan Award.
