Dr. Levin, born in South Africa, earned his medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1982. He completed his psychiatry residency at the University of California, Davis (1985–1989) and later obtained a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1994. He served as the CEO and Medical Director of the APA from 2013 to 2023 and is an APA Life Member.
