Lecture Title: Doctor Where Are You From? The International Medical Graduate in the U.S.

Dr. Olarte earned her M.D. from Cuyo National University in Argentina (1970) and completed her psychiatry residency at Elmhurst City Hospital in New York (1970–1973). She was a member of the Committees for IMGs, Hispanics, and Women Caucuses and is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the APA. Dr. Olarte received the George Tarjan Award (1999), the Alexandra Symonds Award (2007), and a Special Presidential Commendation (2009) from the APA.
