First Lady Rosalynn Carter

First Lady Rosalynn Carter's dedicated efforts to improve mental health care in the United States are well known and admired. On this occasion, the first visit to an APA Annual Meeting by a First Lady, the Association paid tribute to her leadership in bringing the needs of the mentally ill to the attention of the American people.

As Honorary Chairperson of the President's Commission on Mental Health and through her continued public support of vital programs to help the mentally ill.
