The report of findings from the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study conducted for the Veterans Administration and completed in the late 1980s brought greater attention to the issue of PTSD as it found that as many as 26 percent of Veterans were impacted and revealed extremely high rates of alcohol and drug dependence, depression, anxiety disorders, and antisocial personality disorder stemming from PTSD.
