Lecture Title: Attachment, Loss, and Rediscovery
Dr. Morales-Carrión was born in Havana, Cuba, and earned a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Puerto Rico (1935). He received an M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin (1936) and a Ph.D. in History and Government from Columbia University (1950). He served on President Kennedy's Task Force on Latin American Affairs and the Linowitz Commission. In 1986, Dr. Morales-Carrión was awarded APA’s Simon Bolivar Award, where he highlighted the importance of Hispanic culture in the U.S. and advocated for dispelling stereotypes and fostering understanding.
