Lecture Title: The Commitment of Psychiatrists: Lesson from Al-Andalus
Dr. Lopez-Ibor earned both his medical and doctoral degrees from the Complutense University of Madrid, completing his M.D. in 1965 and his doctorate four years later. He trained in psychiatry at the University of Frankfurt in Germany, the Maudsley and St. Bartholomew's Hospitals in London, and the Cantonal Hospital of Vaud in Switzerland. He served as editor of Actas Españolas de Psiquiatría for several years and held leadership roles in the World Psychiatric Association, serving as Secretary General (1989–1995) and later as President (1999–2001).
