Lecture Title: Depression and Suicidal Behavior in Latino Populations

Dr. Oquendo earned her M.D. from Columbia University (1984) and completed her residency at the Payne Whitney Clinic (1985-1988). She received her Ph.D. in psychiatry from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2010). Dr. Oquendo is an APA Distinguished Life Fellow, past president of the American Society of Hispanic Psychiatry, Simon Bolivar Award recipient (2010), and served as the first Latina President of APA (2016-17).
