During the 1973 APA Annual Meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ronald Gold’s paper, “Stop it, you’re making me sick!” became a high point of the conference. His speech was part of a campaign to remove homosexuality from the DSM.
Ronald Gold was a veteran of the Gay Liberation Movement and the Gay Activist Alliance (GAA). He was the co-founder of the National Gay Task Force in 1973 and an early leader in the fight for positive gay images in popular media.
